Through People's Liberty's volunteer design launch day in early 2018, I connected with female phenom and project grantee Tina Dyehouse. Tina's project is City Ombudsman, Cincinnati's first private, non-profit, digital platform-based investigator (a.k.a ombudsman, a.k.a., Tina!) to look into citizens' queries and complaints. Community members can fill out a query form on the City Ombudsman site, and results of the ombudsman's investigations are published there, blog-style, along with resources for Cincinnatians to solve problems themselves.
While another local Cincinnati designer crafted the City Ombudsman dictionary entry-esque logo, I was hired by Tina to help breathe life into her project and bring it to fruition. Under Tina's direction, I created the City Ombudsman site using Squarespace and built a page for City Ombudsman to live on Facebook and Instagram. For the City Ombudsman official launch party, I designed custom-shaped City Ombudsman temporary tattoos, magnets, and stickers, and the presentation slides Tina used to introduce her project to the community. Now that City Ombudsman is up and running, I collaborate with Tina to manage the Squarespace site and social media channels and share City Ombudsman's mission with as many Cincinnatians that will listen.
