Founded in 2000, KnowledgeWorks is a Cincinnati-born social enterprise focused on creating sustainable improvement in student readiness for college and careers through personal learning. KnowledgeWorks provides funding and leadership for national initiatives aimed at ensuring all students an education that prepares them for success. From May to August 2016 I had the privilege of serving as KnowledgeWork's design co-op, collaborating with their communications and marketing team and multiple subsidiaries to craft graphics, characters, and publications for print and digital consumption. Throughout my co-op, the majority of the collateral I worked on was in support of KnowledgeWorks' campaign for competency-based education (CBE) and personalized learning. One of the most exciting KnowledgeWorks endeavors I was invited to participate in was the design of characters for the first in a series of informational videos about CBE, and the first video marketing/communications campaign produced by KnowledgeWorks. See the gallery below for a headshot of the kiddo and instructor characters and a link to the final video that was shared on KnowledgeWorks' website and social media platforms.

Following the completion of our graduate school co-op experiences, each of us Master of Design students were tasked with crafting a presentation documenting our co-op time. Ever eager to embark on a new slide deck storytelling challenge, I infused my presentation with graphic elements reflective of (and actual characters I created during) my experience serving as design co-op for KnowledgeWorks.
